We chose the Higgins Hotel as the venue host given its operation under the WWII Museum and the Hilton brand, its four star service and most importantly its track record of operating very carefully throughout the pandemic. The Higgins Hotel follows all Hilton protocols for the Mayo Clinic and Lysol Brand plans for cleanliness and distancing – “CleanStay” and “Event Ready.”
Convenient to the National WWII Museum and located in a neighborhood full of art, music, and great food, the Higgins Hotel exudes both a sense of place and an understanding of the international history of New Orleans.

Safety protocols in place to help our members, presenters & colleagues remain safe & healthy
Join peers and national experts for a unique professional development opportunity this fall. A collaboration between Hargrove International and ETC – with major support from the Louisiana Office of Tourism, the Louisiana Byways Program, the National WWII Museum and the Higgins Hotel New Orleans – this Symposium will serve as a catalyst for advancing educational travel and heritage tourism post-COVID. This collaboration will add a new and innovative dimension to programming as well as bring complimentary constituencies together.
The focus will be on the critical legal, safety, marketing and programming issues in post-COVID recovery and growth. Roundtables, top experts, intensive learning sessions, and skill-building blocks are featured in a timely and content-rich agenda. Two parallel tracks – the Cultural Heritage Tourism track and an Educational Travel track – will deliver content specific to their community. Outstanding plenaries will offer insights from national experts on topics relevant to advancing both educational travel and cultural heritage tourism in the 21st century.
