Sue Hershkowitz-Coore presented virtually to our members

Just wanted to say that the virtual roundtable was very useful, and the opportunity to connect with fellow planners and operators outside of direct business conversations is what keeps me going these days! Thank you for all that you do.
Patrick Bedard, Dartmouth College Alumni Relations

I really like the opportunity to connect with my peers. Having all that knowledge in one place is invaluable. Carrie Fediuk, Michigan Alumni Travel

I have really enjoyed these valuable virtual sessions you have offered over the past several weeks.  It was really interesting to hear insight from colleagues in various segments (travel planners, U.S. operators and incoming operators).  I particularly enjoyed when we broke into smaller chat rooms to discuss Speaker Sue’s letter samples.  As always, she was a great speaker and Karen also did a great job moderating the town hall. Risk Management

Conceptualizing the unknown, especially in regard to something unwelcome and unpleasant, is daunting and weighs heavily on your organization. A risk management plan can’t rely solely on a regulatory approach matching government requirements. Asking specific questions, and sourcing risk related scenarios builds a good risk management plan, but working with those who have experiences, provides greater structure for your team to address a risk event before emotions run high, causing impaired judgment and potential missteps.

Now, in it’s fourth year, ETC’s Risk Management Professional Training would be worth thousands of dollars if delivered in the public sector. Designed to infuse collective insight to elevate your risk management plan to include current and future risk events, these risk sessions bring together a collective group of professionals to address your risk specific needs within the educational travel market.  And it is yours – within the cost of the registration.

  • Learn from colleagues and professionals in your industry how their organization handled real life risk events.
  • Discuss practical scenarios, building beyond the “what if’s” and the unknowns

Many planners, operators, suppliers, and destinations attend the Conference primarily to benefit from these in-depth risk sessions sequenced year to year and focusing on different elements of building/updating a comprehensive Risk Management Plan.

Be prepared to think beyond the risk events you are familiar with, and learn the questions to ask when you have yet to experience risk events first-hand.

ETC members can access year one (2016) , year two (2017) and year three (2018) Risk Management Professional Training through their member dashboard.
